Mayura Raksha, The Peacock Devil
Paper quilling is an art work using paper strips
rolled in to shapes. I think most people know about it. With this creation I thought of doing something traditional to my country Sri Lanka.
Peacock Devil Mask Wall Hanger
This can be seeing as a wood-carved mask in Sri Lanka.
By combining paper quilling & Peacock Devil design I created this wall
hanger.
This is known as Mayura Raksha Mask by Sri Lankans.
There are lot of masks including this used in traditional dancing’s such as Sokari, Kolam etc. also hanged on main doors of houses. Ancient people says by
hanging these kinds of masks will bring many effects to householders.
